La Negra Surf Hotel and Soda captures Pura Vida in every sense of the word. A small boutique hotel with a small number of rooms allows the staff to give every visitor the attention and customer service necessary to enjoy your stay. Top service without being intrusive, you can chill poolside or at the bar all day and feel right at home. Lisa's food menu is the best in Nosara. Period. Her French influence and culinary experience mixed with the local latino cuisine creates a full menu that is miles ahead of the other restaurants in Nosara and Playa Guiyones. Every element of La Negra embodies surf culture....just 50 meters away from the Playa you will be surfing with Juan Carlos who heads up the surf school and will have you hanging ten on your first day! Head back to the restaurant for a breakfast burrito and a surf chat with Derek and the crew while watching surf videos and listening to some good ol' tunes and relaxing. I can't wait to go back! Thank you to all the staff and this great community around La Negra!
If looking for a place to stay in Costa Rica, stop everything, La Negra is the place. It is small, peaceful, perfectly located with an amazing "pure vida" vibe. Lisa, Derek and everyone have been fantastic during our stay. You'll feel home in no time, hanging in your hammock after surf. Juan Carlos from La Negra Surf School was really cool and made our first surf experience really addictive. The food an cocktails are amazing. Hands down the hardest place to leave... No questions asked, we'll be back for more asap.
This place is a gem! Only stayed 3 nights... but this place had perfect location close to the beach, cool people, great surf lessons, and the best food in town! I'll for sure stay again:)
This place and the people who own it and work here are solid gold! Nosara would not have been as amazing where it not for la Negra and her vibes. Some of the best food and drinks in town as well!
One of Nosara most coolest places for sure! The food is always good and the vibe is funky and chill created with love in every little detail!!!!
Great atmosphere and very flavorful food! Service was spot on and the empanadas were delicious. Ice cold beer and the pool was so nice.
Fantastic spot, located just a few steps from the beach. The bar sereves up a mean juice and an even meaner margarita! The Yoga studio is the icing on the cake, such a light airy space with great teachers and workshops!

Delicious food and drinks! We ordered a pineapple cocktail and the bartender went to the market to get a pineapple. Great service!

This is the quintessential CR beach hotel. Clean crisp decor, simple and spacious, casual cool hospitality. I felt like a visiting family member!

Had to change hotels half way through our trip and ended up at nosara surf hotel. Best thing that could have happened. The hotel is very cool and laid back, just like the owners Liza and Derek. They take such great care of their guests, they make you feel like family. Can't wait to go back

My wife and I had to make an immediate hotel switch in which Lisa and Derek were more than accommodating.They both made the last 7 days of our trip in Nosara so memorable! The hotel/bar/restaurant was everything we needed from the clean rooms, the amazing family dinners bringing all the guests together, the location is as close to the beach/waves as you can get, daily activity recommendations made it feel like you were part of their family! Well done and thank you to Lisa, Derek, Matty, Zephyr and the rest of the hotel staff you are doing an awesome job! Thank you for everything!
