We stayed in Puerto Viejo for a month and after trying out a handful of bars around town, Tasty Waves became the go to place when we wanted good food and drinks and great entertainment. The staff is incredible friendly, the food is great and the prices are the best in town, seriously. They always have something fun going on, trivia, karaoke, live music, etc... it's just a lot of fun with good people, can't beat it. The owner, Bryton, is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, and he's created a friendly environment with an awesome staff that makes you feel like a local from day 1. I would highly recommend checking this place out, whether you're looking for a late night party, a quick bite to eat or just a few happy hour drinks, I don't think you will be disappointed!!
Welcoming and fun atmosphere coupled with great tacos. Michael's drinks were on point and Sarah was a great bartender and extremely knowledgeable when it came to the local wildlife. We loved this place so much we went to trivia night, karaoke night, and movie night. The place just had very cool vibe to it and the owner was also very nice. This was our 4th time to Puerto Viejo and we're actually thinking about moving down here for a while. Good times.
Wonferful place, amazing staff and very good food! Playa Cocles is nice also and Tasty Waves is definitely a must go! On Tuesday's, special discount for tacos. Even vegan ones! Other nights with live music, karaoke, party and easy going people. Perfect!

What a great place. Food was amazing, drinks were great, but it was the staff that made us come back three times in two days. We were here with kids and felt completely welcome. Trivia night was a highlight. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back next time we're in the area!

I love Tasty Waves, we always make it a point to come here when we are in Puerto Viejo and we always have a great time. The tacos are awesome and I love that they have different events during the week. Trivia night and movie night were tons of fun!
Absolutely love Tasty Waves! My wife and I stayed near puerto viejo for 12 days for our honeymoon and were consistently at Tasty Waves, We were there pretty much everyday for either drinks and/or tacos. The staff is super friendly, very welcoming, and just a good time. The owner Bryton is a very awesome person, he treated us like we were long time friends or family and it made our stay that much more enjoyable! We cannot say enough positive things about Tasty Waves and everyone involved there, if you find yourself in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica do yourself a huge favor and go check out Tasty Waves! (Especially on a Tuesday, it's a party!)
